Existing membership status, actual PF wages, employment history and the applicable statutory\/scheme provisions need to be considered.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>How will the revised ceiling affect PF contributions?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For employees whose PF contributions are calculated on the revised ceiling, the maximum wage considered for contribution purposes can increase from \u20b915,000 to \u20b925,000, subject to the applicable provisions.<\/p>\n<p>For illustration, assuming the standard <strong>12% employee contribution<\/strong> and contribution on the full \u20b925,000 wage:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Example 1: Employee earning \u20b925,000 PF wages<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Suppose:<\/p>\n<p><strong>PF wages = \u20b925,000 per month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Employee contribution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>12% \u00d7 \u20b925,000<\/p>\n<p>= <strong>\u20b93,000 per month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Previously, if the contribution was restricted to \u20b915,000:<\/p>\n<p>12% \u00d7 \u20b915,000<\/p>\n<p>= <strong>\u20b91,800 per month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the employee\u2019s PF deduction could increase by:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u20b93,000 \u2212 \u20b91,800 = \u20b91,200 per month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This means the employee\u2019s monthly <strong>take-home salary could reduce by \u20b91,200<\/strong>, assuming all other salary components remain unchanged.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Employer contribution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The employer\u2019s contribution is also calculated with reference to the applicable PF wage, subject to the statutory provisions.<\/p>\n<p>Where EPS applies, the maximum EPS contribution under the revised ceiling can be calculated as:<\/p>\n<p><strong>8.33% \u00d7 \u20b925,000 = \u20b92,082.50 per month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The remaining portion of the employer\u2019s statutory contribution, after the applicable EPS allocation, goes towards EPF, subject to the applicable rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Example 2: Employee earning \u20b922,000 per month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Consider an employee whose applicable PF wages are <strong>\u20b922,000 per month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Employee PF contribution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>12% \u00d7 \u20b922,000<\/p>\n<p>= <strong>\u20b92,640 per month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the earlier \u20b915,000 ceiling, where contribution was restricted to the ceiling:<\/p>\n<p>12% \u00d7 \u20b915,000<\/p>\n<p>= <strong>\u20b91,800 per month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Difference<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u20b92,640 \u2212 \u20b91,800<\/p>\n<p>= <strong>\u20b9840 additional PF deduction per month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, assuming the salary structure remains unchanged, the employee\u2019s take-home salary could decrease by approximately <strong>\u20b9840 per month<\/strong>, while the employee\u2019s retirement savings increase correspondingly.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Example 3: Employee earning \u20b930,000 per month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now consider an employee earning \u20b930,000 per month.<\/p>\n<p>The revised statutory ceiling is \u20b925,000.
